" My family has been fishing the west arm of Eagle lake for more than 40 years. I am the fourth generation to stayed at Eagle West Resort and we have always had a successful and awesome time. The walleye fishing is fantastic with many trophy caught over the years. The surrounding portage lakes just add to the fishing experience with adventure and opportunity for more trophy fish of all species. Eagle West has always been the place we look forward to going ever year in May and can’t wait to return year after year.  Thanks! "

"Having stayed at Kimberly's Eagle West Resort in past years I took my wife (her first trip to Canada) to Eagle West Resort knowing there would be changes and that it was under new ownership.    What a surprise, we arrived in the midst of the Sanftleben's remodeling of Eagle West and bringing it up to date.    We were there in September and the changes they had made in the short time they had owned the resort were amazing.    My wife had the time of her life and we both can't wait to get back this September and see the finished changes they have planned.
The Sanftleben's were the friendliest hosts I have ever been around and by the time we left at the end of the week we felt we had known them for years rather than the short time of our stay.
Looking forward to making this one of our annual destinations."

"I've been fishing the West Arm of Eagle Lake for over 30 years, and it's only gotten better in the years since the slot-size was put in place.  There are more big fish and the eating-size fish have increased also.  The fishing just keeps getting better every year.  Just about the time you think you've seen it as good as it can possibly be, the next year is even better.  There is no need to worry about finding fish, within five minutes from the dock you can be on some of the best fishing on the West Arm.

The location of Eagle West is really perfect.  Walleye, trout, and musky are all within short rides from the resort.  The West Arm isn't so wide open that you lose any fishing time due to high winds that may make it hard to get out at other resorts.  Like I said, I've been fishing from this same location for over 30 years and sometimes as many as three times a year.  I hope I have another 30 years ahead of me at Eagle West.  There is no need to go anywhere else. "

"The west arm of Eagle Lake is great place to fish, relax and spend time with friends and family.  Since first coming to Eagle Lake in 1977,  we have seen constant improvement in the quality of fishing with all members of our crew having caught personal bests of multiple species while staying at Eagle West Resort.  Eagle West Resort is in an excellent location with a protected bay and easy access to fishable waters even  on very windy days.  Every year we look forward to returning to this picturesque spot to enjoy the natural setting, reminisce about prior adventures and create new memories.”

"Eagle Lake, in Northwestern Ontario, and Eagle West Resort on the West Arm, is synonymous with great family fun. We're hooked, as are many others who visit this little piece of heaven.

Our parents taught us, as pre-schoolers, how to fish (catch and release, of course), and enjoy and respect the wilderness. Years later, the lake still calls us back. It's like our second home. Yes, now our husbands, with dogs in tow, have the same longing to return each year.

We've seen the resort evolve over 50 years -- through two generations of Kimberley's and now with the Sanftleben's and their version of paradise. It's a place for people of all ages to enjoy each other's company and to discover God's country. And you're treated as more than another customer and fisherman.

It's where we recharge our souls and create special memories -- decompressing in the rugged but accessible Canadian Shield, with its never-ending forests and the scent of pine wafting on warm winds; marvelling at spectacular sunrises and intense sunsets (this is Sunset Country); crafting sandcastles on clean, sandy beaches; swimming off the sand or warm rocky points in clear water; canoeing or kayaking in early morning mists, seeking treasure at the end of a bay; portaging to other lakes to fish, swim and view pictographs; discovering a new fishing spot around each comer, without disruption, for muskie, northern pike, walleye, lake trout, whitefish or bass; admiring loon chicks on their mothers' backs, and groups dancing and yodeling as day fades into twilight; envying eagles spying from on high; and, if very lucky, glimpsing cougar, deer, bear, fox or wolf at the water's edge, sipping a drink. Cameras are as important as fishing equipment!

And if a dazzling thunderstorm rolls in? We take a break from the lake to visit plenty of attractions nearby.

We're like kids again at Eagle Lake and the Eagle West Resort. It's an effortless celebration of fresh air and water, and where we savor freedom, adventure, and the peace and serenity of the great Canadian experience."

"I'm hooked on Eagle Lake. My family and I have been coming up from Texas to fish at Kimberly's Eagle West Resort (now Eagle West Resort) for the last 21 years and are planning for our 22nd year of trophy fishing. I've watched my son grow up on this lake since his first trip at age 4. He and I have come up every year since, with my dad most years, and my daughter came along for 4 or 5 years until she discovered boys.  Over this period of time the quality and numbers of fish have improved with leaps and bounds. As avid fishermen in the south, we find Eagle to be our favorite annual fishing destination due to it's beauty, remote setting and opportunities to catch Texas size fish from tons of walleye, arial small mouth bass, aggressive pike, lakers and magnificent muskie. The portage lakes add another dimension...you may not see another boat all day. This is Canadian fishing. We are looking forward to building a relationship with the new owners, Trevor and his family and relish the memories of the past with Steve Kimberly.  Lets Fish."

"Thank you so much for the wonderful time we had last year up at Eagle West resort. We felt welcome for the second we arrived at the resort, meeting up with your wife Phyllis and your daughter Jessica. They took us to our cabin, explained about the resort, and we got to meet you down at the dock area. There we prepared to step into the finest fishing boats I have ever been to at a resort.
The boats were spacious, wide, and very comfortable to sit in for the many hours we fished. The motors were 50 horse 4 stroke motors that trolled down perfectly for good walleye fishing. The GPS/dept finders were easy to understand and user friendly for all. All live wells worked and the boats were clean and ready to use every day of our stay.
I can not say enough good things about our stay at Eagle West, and meeting you and your family. This is a top notch resort, and a great fishing lake. My family looks forward to many stays with you, your wife and daughter in the future.
Take care as I cherish these memories and friendship."
